NEWS REPORTER
Part-time Position
Illini Media Group in Champaign is looking for an eager, entry-level journalist with strong digital and social media skills to report on and produce content for the startup website Chambanatoday dot com. The reporter must reside in the Champaign Urbana area.
Typical duties will include:
- Reporting and writing about 1 feature story/week, with photos.
- Uploading community news releases and obituaries.
- Managing website and Facebook/social content.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications or enrolled with some coursework toward the degree.
- Top-notch writing ability.
- Reliable transportation.
- A willingness to learn and grow through constructive feedback.
- Teamwork skills for effective work in a collaborative, supportive environment.
This position pays $18 to $20 an hour for 25 hours per week.
